“There is a language, the nation is alive”

Language is a great blessing given to man! It reflects the history, mentality, individuality of the people. Therefore, unique cultural – educational values and ancient values belong to this concept. There are many languages in the world, but for each nation their language is valuable and sacred. The state language is a sacred personification of national independence, a mirror of society and a state symbol.

On October 21, 1989, at the 11th session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Uzbek language was given the status of the state language. This date plays an important role in the political and cultural life of the Uzbek people. Now this event is 30 years old. For a 30 – year history, this period of time is like a drop in the ocean. But all these years we have been lovingly reading in our mother tongue the heritage of our great ancestors, their masterpieces of wisdom, works of art, historical and memorial collections. This indicates the beginning of a new era in the development of the Uzbek language. Official documents are currently written in this language. The Uzbek language is also widely used in international communication, world forums, international conferences. The reforms carried out in the country also have a positive impact on the development of our language. The vocabulary of the language was enriched with new words and concepts, and its interaction with foreign languages increased.

The Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev dated to October 4, 2019 “On a worthy celebration of the 30th anniversary of the status of the state language of the Uzbek language” left an indelible mark on the cultural life of our people. In order to ensure the implementation of the Decree, Berdakh Karakalpak State University, together with secondary schools, developed a program of spiritual and educational events and organizes literary evenings, essay contests, meetings, round tables and open lessons at the faculties. In particular, on October 19 of the current year, a scientific-practical conference on the theme “There is a language, the nation is alive” was held at the Palace of Culture of the University.
