At present, on the initiative of our esteemed President, reverence and appreciation of the works of poets, writers has risen to the state political level. From this point of view, for the general public, especially young people, to set an example of the activities of individuals who, on the path of lofty goals, have dedicated their lives and the fate of fiction is of great importance.
January 23 of this year, at the Palace of Culture of Karakalpak State University named after Berdakh, a scientific and literary evening called “The Light of Poetry” was held, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the State Prize named after Berdakh laureate, who made a significant contribution to the development of Karakalpak literature, Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tolepbergen Matmuratov, as well as his recently published book “Selected Works”.
The event was held by Rector of the University, Professor Akhmed Reymov.
Head of the Union of Writers of Karakalpakstan K.Karimov, Professor K.Orazimbetov, Associate Professor A.Dosymbetova, writer M.Nyzanov, poet Sh.Ayapov, A.Otepbergenov, wife of the poet A.Matmuratov, relatives and friends of the poet made a speech at the event.
The event participants were presented with a number of poems. Among them: “White Poplar, Blue Poplar” (1964), “Lyric” (1966), “Awakening of Beauty” (1970), “Aysanem” (1973), “Transfiguration” (1977), “Dreams” (1981), “The Palace of Good” (1986), “The Shining of Stars” (1989) and other published poetry books.
The poet Tolepbergen Matmuratov for his short life managed to sing in his works such high qualities as honesty, humanity and loyalty.
Our government highly appreciated the poet’s work, having awarded him with the Prize of the Karakalpakstan Youth Union, the Berdakh State Prize and the honorary title “Honored Worker of Culture of Uzbekistan”.
Tolepbergen Matmuratov, in his remarkable works, now lives his second life.
The event continued with a concert program composed of poetry poems.
