From March 1-4 this year, the “Universiade 2020” volleyball competition among students of higher educational institutions will be held in the city of Nukus. The competition will be attended by the winning teams of regional sports from the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Namangan, Jizzak, Samarkand regions.

On March 1, teams from Namangan, Jizzak and Samarkand regions arrived in the city of Nukus, guests were warmly received at the Berdakh Karakalpak State University.

On March 2, the competition began with teams from the Namangan and Jizzak regions.

Speakers, at the opening ceremony of the event, which was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan M.Jumanov, Minister of Physical Culture and Sports G.Bainiyazov, rector of KSU, professor A.Reimov, rector of NSPI B.Utemuratov and others, noted that in our country special attention is paid to physical education and sports, the development of mass sports, the selection and education of gifted athletes, which can be seen on the example of similar sports events.
