
On March 18, 2022, students of groups 108, 109, 110, 112, 113 and 114 together with their tutors Z.Erimbetova and R.Allanazarova of the Department of English Language and Literature of the Faculty of Foreign Languages organized an extracurricular event dedicated to the celebration of the New Year according to the solar calendar – Navruz, or Spring Day, which is celebrated on the day of the spring equinox .
It is believed that this holiday is more than three thousand years old. It officially became international only in 2009, when UNESCO included it in the list of the intangible cultural heritage of mankind. Navruz is the oldest agricultural holiday, it symbolizes the renewal, rebirth of nature, the triumph of life, hopes for a generous harvest year, its origin is associated with the emergence of the agricultural calendar.
Representatives from each group presented about national customs and traditions, demonstrated national costumes, and shared the secrets of national cuisine. The celebration was attended by the head of the department of phd. Z. Uteshova, as well as all professors and teachers of the Department of English Language and Literature.
The participants of the holiday met in a friendly, cheerful atmosphere, in national costumes, with national songs and incendiary dances, and also gave everyone a warm atmosphere and good emotions.
