А in the modern world it is very important to know foreign languages. Studying them broadens our horizons, people become more educated. A special place among them is occupied by English as the language of international communication.
          In order to identify talented, support capable and gifted students, their further intellectual development, teachers of the Department of English Language and Literature annually hold an English Olympiad.

          This year, all enthusiastic students from the second, third and fourth years took part in the Olympiad, and the number of participants was 31 students.
          The Olympiad was held in 2 stages: at the first stage – (tasks for listening, reading and linguistics), after revealing the results of the first stage out of 31 contestants, 10 were admitted to the second stage – simultaneous translation and speaking. The maximum score of an Olympiad participant for both stages was 100 points.
          Thus, the winner of the first place goes to the faculty tour of the Olympiad and the winner of the faculty tour goes to the republican tour, which will take place in May in Tashkent. Participants who have taken three places at the republican stage will have the right to choose the university where they want to continue their studies at Master’s degree.
          After two stages of knowledge competitions in English, the first place was taken by the student of group 407 Zhumanbetova Khurliman, with 82.5 points and was admitted to the faculty tour.
