On March 2, 1992 , by the decree of the President of the republic of Uzbekistan No.2243, May 9 was designated as the Day of Remembrance and Appreciation. In connection with the widespread celebration of the Day of Remembrance and Appreciation as an international holiday, tutors of the Faculty of Foreign Languages held an event dedicated to this day together with students.The event was attended by Major Allamuratov Dastan Dauletbayevich, the head of the Veterans’ Council of Nukus,  the deputy head of the Veterans’ Council of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Sergeant Kannazarov Bakhit Babanazarovich, the lieutenant of the Western-Eastern military district 21131 Meliyev Eldor Anvar Uli took part in the event.

In his speech, he remembered the brave young men of our nation who fought for our prosperity and the independence of our nation, even sacrificing their lives if necessary, introduced their brave deeds to the future generation, and called on the youth to love the motherland. He said that it is the main duty of each of us not to forget the consequences of the Second World War, to appreciate our peaceful life today, to conscientiously fulfill our filial duty to our motherland, to protect every corner of it and to ensure its safety.
